If I had a pound from everyone who had said sorry to me in my life I would be a wealthy man.
From the care system to the “incident” where I was accused of being an armed drug dealer, arrested, mentally and physically abused by Police Custody Suite for 54 hours, remanded to Lincoln Prison, bailed (with the strictest of conditions) – being dragged through the judicial system for months.
Then, the realisation that I was indeed, an innocent man, before an in depth investigation, Police Sergeants doing a “deal” to accept only ONE overall charge of misconduct for what they did to me.
To the full and open letter of apology from the Head of Custody Paul Saint.
The postings of the “incident” that were put on the Neighbourhood Watch Forum, viewed by 3,200 people ( in a village of 5,000) – to the acknowledgement and subsequent apology from the village Parish Council.
What do all these apologies mean??? – in my mind – not a lot. If I hit you on the head with a hammer then say sorry, does this mean that the actual assault didn’t happen?
As the person that has had all this done to you, all you can do is to go away, curl up in a little ball, and wait for the next “attack” to happen.
Apologies mean nothing unless something is done to prevent this kind of behaviour.
