So I give you another contributor to my downfall and demise.
I think I got it wrong when I met their Head of Content John Ball at the HQ of the Chad. I got it wrong because I actually believed that he was a man who told the truth – and a man of his word.
This is my local newspaper that published TWO articles regarding the armed drugs raid that I was unwittingly dragged into. Given the gravity of the charges i.e. Robbery and False imprisonment, I would have thought (in the public interest) that this story should have been reported on to its conclusion.
The Chad should then have published that all charges against me were dismissed by the Crown when they realised ( after going through the legal system for four months) that I was actually a removal man who knew nothing about what was going off until plod snapped the handcuffs on me.
Is it unreasonable to expect that the Chad, or you, should have double checked the validity of the information given for this case before publishing OR forwarding information to a third party?
Hey, Mr Ball, you can give me assurances that the offending articles would be removed – which on reflection, as of Wednesday 5th September 2018 this seems to be the case.
BUT, you failed to inform me that the Chad had directly, or indirectly, informed The Blidworth Neighbourhood Watch about the criminal proceedings.
Why did you not inform me of this at the face to face meeting that we had?
If you try and say that you, or the Chad did not do this, you can probably explain WHY the Blidworth Neighbourhood Watch has named your Newspaper as the source for at least ONE of the publications?
Getting down to the nitty gritty, given the fact that Blidworth has a population of 4457 ( in 2011 -source Wikipedia), and the TWO articles published by “The Neighbourhood Watch” had combined views of 3200 views – it makes perfect sense WHY hardly anybody from the village spoke to us, and those that did, more or less hounded us out.
I suggest that the Chads actions were grossly incompetent in this matter – together with serious failings that need addressing.
My family and I are entitled to our privacy and dignity – you managed to prevent both.
A formal explanation and resolution from you is required as a matter of urgency – failure to do so will leave me no option than to report you to the Independent Press Standards Organisation in the most serious manner.
