Recently attended an appointment at Millbrook Mental Health Unit with my Psychologist Paul Dennis. This is more like us just having a chat on what has been happening to me in the past few months – mental health wise.

I think that the restarting of any serious mental health treatment has long gone now – I like this set up, this agreement. There is no pressure, no expectation, and some night question – what is the point?

But, there has been progress – I have engaged on courses at the Recovery College, I take my medication (when I remember to do so – even though some of it is in blister packs) and I continue to battle my demons.

I do manage, (when I am not trying to avoid the world by sleeping), to do research on the internet, for my next book- which is going to be called The Barnardo Chronicles. This will be about the life and times of my time in the “care” of this organisation.

I hope that other ex Barnardo boys that I have managed to contact will each write and add their own experiences – if nothing else, it will be different

I still think about how things could have been, and continue to be plagued by negative and destructive thoughts – I am still gripped by this insanity thing, but if there is any way that you can – I am, beginning to understand and accept that this damned illness is not going to let me go.
